There are serious problems in the world today, the social issues that surround us are massive and literally billions of people need Jesus, but charitable organizations and ministries are tiny by comparison and the workers are few.   Most of the time it feels like we are just throwing pebbles at giant problems!  But how many of you know that a pebble in the hands of the anointed can kill a giant?  It is our goal to help people who want to take up the sling and actively work to slay the giants in the world.

Bono of the ban U2 put it this way, “History will be our judge, but what is written is up to us.  We cannot say our generation didn’t know how to do it.  We can’t say our generation couldn’t afford it and we can’t say our generation didn’t have reason to do it.  Our problem is that the plight of suffering people simply hasn’t gotten personal for us.”   My family has operated a project in Thailand under The New Horizons Foundation for 17 years.   I can pick up my cell phone right now and talk to missionaries working at the orphanage, I may have to wake them up since there is a 12 hour time difference, but we can talk or even see each other on Skype or Zoom.  I can be on a plane today and be anywhere in the world in 24 hours, my luggage may not be there, but I will be and I can send money from my bank today and it will be in the ministry bank account in Thailand tomorrow. We live in an unprecedented time.  Whatever your passion, whatever your calling and whatever your circumstances you can be involved next door or across the world.

In the real world, researchers report that 50% of the jobs that people have today, did not exist 10 years ago, but in the nonprofit world 95% of the jobs existed 100 years ago. Are there really so few new ideas today on how to expand the gospel and meet the pressing social needs?   Is Isaiah 43: 18-19 not for today, when God said, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold I am doing a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and river in the desert.”
